Well, I'm safe and sound, back in North Carolina after a rather splendid weekend. It was the best vacation I've had in years. St. Louis is such a blast, you guys. I can't even begin to describe all of the fun and mischief Emily and I managed to get up to. It was also fun to see where my sister works, watch enlisted Airmen have to salute her whenever we went on base, and just generally having fun with military people. There were copious amounts of Pepsi and Gatorade consumed, along with inappropriate posing with statues in museums and flirting with amazingly hot Native American men in sports bars. HOORAY!!!

Thanks for the kind words on my last post. I would have answered them but my sister's monitor was going bonkers and I couldn't deal with the constant on/off thing it had going on. :\

Anyway, I'm absolutely exhausted so that's it for today. I'll find a high-speed internet connected somewhere and upload pics soon. (Yeah, how often does THAT happen? BLAH.)

First off, I must say that I'm quite ashamed of myself for going through life thus far without owning a Bob Marley record. I just bought "Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley and the Wailers", and holy crap it's great. I hereby pimp it to everyone, for it rules and, to steal a line from E&C, so totally reeks of awesomeness.

So I've noticed a few Civil War (the American civil war, that is) board games out. Does anyone else besides me find that sort of hilarious? Would the South really rise again? Hmm...

I'm also a bit annoyed that I got caught up in the work I was doing (everyone and their freaking mother was wantig re-prints of loan packages) and I totally missed my dentist's appointment - ugh! But at least I get the two free cleanings a year and I didn't have to pay anything for missing it. So it's been rescheduled to next month. Good thing I take great care of my teeth.

I'm being a horrible, horrible skanky ho and getting all hot and bothered over Edge the Man-Slut. I shouldn't, but...

What's even better is that it's a hybrid course - part of it is online and then we'll also meet at night and on weekends. I like that because I won't have to go part-time at work, which would really put a big strain on me financially. Another great thing is that I've already taken things like electives and required English/Math/Science courses, so the only classes I really need to worry about are the actual clinical work and the anatomy classes. Which, I hate to toot my own horn here, but I love anything dealing with the human body, so. So yeah. I'm still going to apply for financial aid; however, I may not need it too badly since the credits I've already gotten will save me quite a bit of cash.

YAY FOR ME I WIN THE INTERNETS!

Ugh, I am so tired and I've got a sore throat. The coughing doesn't help the sore throat too much. I've already had my coffee and some cold medicine (yay Mucinex!) but I'm still dragging. Hopefully I didn't catch Emily's cold - if she passed it on I'm going to kick her ass. Okay, not really. I'll just barf on her instead. ;-) Maybe I'll get with it at some point today.

In other random news, I'd like to be a guy for a day. I'd totally be one of those men with the full beards and mustaches, riding a motorcycle. I also sort of want to be able to wear cologne (mmm, I LOVE cologne) and have my own penis. That? Would be amazing.

I'm rambling, so that means I need to go...do something. Work would be good.

First off, I want to point out that my mom was hilariously taken aback that I broke the "no mood" rule for the "Do Not Read" meme. I told her that it was just the internets (and thusly is NOT srs bzns), but she didn't understand. Hey, I needed all the help I could get in getting just one person to look at it. Also, I'm really sort of dumb and have fallen for that one so many times I've lost count. *facepalm*

I spent most of Saturday at Mom's house and then we had Pam's baby shower yesterday. We all had nicknames; mine was Epidrual, Emily's was Uterus, and Emily's friend Bridget was Vagina. AWESOME. I can't wait to be a godmother. :D One of the couples there wanted the Sperm and Egg nametags, so it was really fun. The food was great and I took pride in the fruit tray that I arranged because I'm easily amused like that.

Anyway, nothing of import here. Maybe later.

First off, I want to pimp the movie Modify. It's a documentary on almost all forms of body modification, from sex-change surgery to tattoos. Brian told me to watch it and afterwards I was absolutely hooked. It was refreshing to know that there were more people out there who were like me than I could have ever imagined.

Not sure if Netflix or whatever has it, but you can try. I bought mine from BME but I'd recommend buying it on Amazon if you can find it. I'm cheap like that.

In random news, I tried to actually style my hair in a somewhat cute way this morning and it turned out looking like I have a badger on my head. Such is life.

I have paid all of my bills for the month - woohoo! And there is plenty left over for any dire emergencies. I am a very happy Ashley now. :)
